Two weeks in

Two weeks. We've made it to the two week mark without going loco!
It's hard to know whether it's been the longest 14 days of our lives or the shortest. Probably both.
The ups and downs are extreme. Homesickness and missing the friends and family we left behind can hit us very hard, typically in the midst of things that aren't going well. The reality of being foreigners, like not knowing how to find the dang bus to IKEA much less read the signs that might give us some direction, is almost like having another kid who is just a terrible person and embarrasses you in front of everyone by yelling all the dark truths about how ignorant and confused you are. The next moment is elation: successfully finding a water fountain (not as easy as you'd think) or partially understanding the waiter who has brought you the most delicious treat you've eaten since...the last incredible meal you had. Or just enjoying the beautiful city, it's amazing parks, and showing our kids so many of the spots we fell in love with when we were here before. Or the joy of watching one of them overcome their trepidation and ask other kids if they'd like to play, IN SPANISH! It's been quite a topsy turvy ride.
We can't wait to show and tell you more...currently we are still without internet, and are busy hustling around the city trying to handle the necessities of becoming residents.
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers! We need em;)
We're excited about what is to come and encouraged by the progress we've already made...and we prolly don't need to go back to IKEA for a while;)
